Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Rt Rev Samuel Ezeofor has expressed worry over growing exodus of several multinational companies from Nigeria ocassioned by unfriendly government policies.

He charged government to create more business-friendly environment capable of attracting both foreign and local firms to boost the economy and create employment opportunities for the people.

The Prelate spoke at St. Mark’s Church, Ajalli, in Orumba North Local Government Area, during a service of confirmation and admission into Mothers’ Union and Girls’ Guild for all parishes under Ajalli Archdeaconry.

He further urged parents and Ministers of God to make youths to love God in order to secure a brighter future for them.

“The federal and state governments need to create more opportunities for youths, who are the future leaders, to enable them assert their roles positively,” he added.

Ezeofor, who doubles as National Chairman of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion (EFAC) Nigeria further charged the federal government to prioritize the welfare of citizens, and regretted the hardships Nigerians are facing.

He advocated for more oriented programmes and policies capable of improving living standards of the people.

Ezeofor however cautioned those admitted into Mothers’ Union and Girls’ Guild not to see it as a title rather to use their new positions to win more souls for Christ.

Responding, Vicar of Saint Mark’s Church, Ajalli, and Archdeacon of Ajalli Archdeaconry, Ven Nwachineke Ekwueme, thanked Bishop Ezeofor for the visit, describing it as morale booster to the parishioners.

He charged Christians to always practice what is contained in the Holy Scripture to inherit the kingdom of God.

The President of the Aguata Diocesan Women’s Ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor, and some Diocesan officials attended the service, which featured a series of prayers for those in leadership positions, Anambra State, and Nigerian at large.

66 candidates received the sacrament of confirmation, while 20 girls were admitted into the Girls’ Guild and 18 women into the Mothers’ Union during the service.
