An Igbo writing competition has been announced by the late Sir B. O Chiedu family to commemorate the Legacy of the publisher of Mbido igbo Textbook, Sir B.O Chiedu(of Blessed Memory). The family has equally announced mouthwatering Prizes for the competition.
The late Sir B.O Chiedu was the founder of Kawuriz and Manilas Ltd, publishers of the bestselling igbo language textbook for primary schools in Igboland. Sir B. O Chiedu died in the year 2001.
To commemorate the twenty third memorial of Late Sir B. O Chiedu, Kawuriz & Manilas Publishers Ltd presents Benneth Okoye Chiedu Awards(BOCA).

This year’s theme is centered on Anim (#AnimNwunyeMbeContest).
Submission Guidelines:
- Participants must be undergraduates with proof of identification i.e. Name of institution, Year of Study, and Faculty or Departmental ID card.
- The story must be in Igbo Language and edited.

Criteria that will be used in Judging the competition
Relevance to the theme – connection, the significance of the issue being discussed.
Comprehensiveness – how complete and detailed the writer’s exposition of the topic is.
Originality – uniqueness, novelty, and authenticity of ideas.
Insights – a fresh way of looking at things, a critical view of the subject.
Competition begins on 1st August and ends on 31st October
