It appears that there is a leadership crisis at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Awka with two individuals claiming to be the Acting Vice-Chancellor.
The cancellation of the senate meeting by the new Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mrs Carol Umeobi, suggests a power struggle between the two factions.
Prof Ikechebelu, the removed Acting Vice Chancellor had earlier called for an emergency meeting of the University Senate today 22nd July, 2024 in a letter signed by the acting Registrar.
But in another letter signed by Dr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, the School PRO, the New Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mrs Carol Umeobi cancelled the senate meeting.
To what end will this University crisis linger ?
