Rotary President promises mosquito nets, drugs for PHCs, boreholes for Anambra communities

Newly elected President of the Rotary Club of Awka-Smithtown in Anambra state, Mr Alex Arinze has promised to donate mosquito nets and drugs at primary healthcare centres as part of his project plans for Rotary Year 2024/2025.

He also promised to offset West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) fees for 20 students as well as provide boreholes in rural communities, among others.

Speaking on Sunday during his investiture/installation ceremony as the 9th President of the Rotary Club, Arinze stressed the need to give sense of belonging to the needy by catering for them.

He urged well-meaning Nigerians to expand their humanitarian efforts to improve lives and the society.

“Thank you for the opportunity to see and contribute in achieving the objectives of the Rotary club. We will continue to be resilient in our humanitarian duties.

“We cannot do it alone, therefore, we appeal to well-meaning Nigerians and corporate organisations to support our humanitarian project for the betterment of the country, ” he said.

In his valedictory remarks, outgone President, Mr Valentine Okaudo enumerated his performance while in office and thanked members for their support during his tenure.
