Adaku Nkem Nwandu is a young promising swimmer from Enugwu-Ukwu who will be representing Nigeria in the 50m Freestyle event at the ongoing Paris 2024 Olympics.
Born on 29 September 2007 in Beijing to a Nigerian father, Adaku, at only 16 years old, displays tremendous potential for Nigeria.
Her father’s dedication in taking her to various swimming meets across Asia has significantly contributed to her development, culminating in her qualification as an Olympian at such a young age.
Nkem Nwandu has also showcased her talent at the national level, notably being part of the Bayelsa team that set a new national record in the 4×200m freestyle women’s swimming event at the 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State.
The team completed the event in 9:28:30 minutes, surpassing the previous record set by Team Edo in 2021.
