Soludo Nominates ANSIEC Board Members, Sends List To House Of Assembly For Confirmation.

As part of the preparations for the conduct of Local Government Elections in Anambra State, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has sent names of the board members of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) to the House of Assembly for confirmation.

The Speaker of the House of Assembly Rt.Hon. Somtochukwu Nkemakonam Udeze who read out the governor’s letter requesting consideration and confirmation of the board members, thereafter referred the letter to the Screening Committee headed by the Deputy Speaker of the House Rt.Hon. Chukwuma Pius Okoye for further deliberations.

The governor’s letter however contained names of the board members to include Magistrate Chinelo Genevieve Osakwe as Chairman of ANSIEC board. While Barr. Osita Igbokwe, Mr. Chinedu Anthony, Mrs. Ifeyinwa Umeh and two others are members.

The Speaker therefore charged the Screening Committee to expedite action on the letter and report to the House on the next adjourned date.
