By Promise Okongwu.

The Gov. Charles Chukwuma Soludo led Anambra State government has concluded plans to field candidates on other political party platforms, other than the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the 2024 local government elections in Anambra State.

The negotiations for a secret political party which is in top gear and almost concluded by aides to the Anambra State governor is in a bid to provide alternative political platform to the factionalized All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of local polls.

Obviously, the governor of Anambra State is not ready to risk loosing over Seven (7) billion naira of Anambra Local government allocations as recorded in July, 2024 to opposition parties due to continuous and endless litigations by Edozie Njoku and his team, who the governor according to anonymity is yet to confirm their real sponsors and the hidden political interests that lies within them.

Recall that the APGA National leadership loyal to Prof. Soludo and his led godson, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa was ousted by the Appeal court of Nigeria on the 28th of June, 2024, where the court of 2nd instance affirmed Chief Edozie Njoku as the authentic / INEC recognized National Chairman of the cock party.

What it means is that only candidates validly nominated by the Edozie Njoku’s recognized state executives will be recognized by ANSIEC, who is expected to receive INEC register and other electoral materials that will see to the successful conduct of local government elections in Anambra State.

The practicality of ANSIEC receiving electoral materials from INEC according to the unavoidable Nigeria laws is that the Anambra State government’s appointed electoral umpire, suspected to be loyal to the governor is expected to observe all the protocols and electoral guidelines being practiced and observed by INEC in the conduct of elections in the country.

The resultant effect of these electoral protocol’s and guidelines by ANSIEC is that any candidate not validly nominated / submitted by the Njoku’s faction of APGA Anambra state leadership will immidately turn nullity, while the opposite party benefits from the chunk lawless electoral malfeasance, if Gov. Soludo tries any act of disobedience on the Appeal court of Nigeria judgement on the leadership of the party.
