New Commissioner for information in Anambra State, Dr. Law Mefor has expressed concerns over what he termed underreportage of the laudable achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

He said the governor in less than three years of his administration had performed tremendously beyond some other governors in their second tenure.

Speaking on Thursday during a meeting with members of Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in his office, Mefor highlighted numerous giant strides of the current government, including road infrastructures across the state.

He solicited collaboration with the Chapel to ensure a robust, fair and full reportage of the state.

He said, “Mr Governor has a solid blueprint for Anambra’s growth but I believe that his achievements have not been fully presented. These achievements need more publicity and feedbacks.

“This is a government within two years, have awarded over 400 roads and completed more than 250 of them, yet without borrowing. Infact, Soludo is competing with other governors that are in their second tenure.

“I believe in Soludo and my reasons are obvious. His political journey started in 2009 and I’ve been with him since then. He has made name and money so he’s not here to chase clout.

“He told me he wants to rebuild Anambra with strategic blueprint. When we were presenting him to Nigeria for President, he said he needed to start with his state. That’s his priority.

“The governor’s reputation resonates globally, and we must leverage this to attract investment and development. Anambra is not just the Light of the Nation but has a rich heritage.

“We must publicize Mr Governor’s efforts to showcase the state’s potential, including embarking on tour of major projects across the state.

“The media remains my primary constituency and I must work with you. If you want to go fast, go alone, if you want to go far, go with a team. I desire to work with you so please come along on this journey with me. I’ll be the bridge between you and government.”

Responding, Vice President of the Chapel, Nkeiru Nwagbo congratulated the Commissioner on his new appointment, assuring him of partnership.
