Governorship Aspirant under the platform of Labour Party (LP) in the November 8 2025 gurbarnitorial election in Anambra State,Mr. John Nwosu,has regretted in a very strong term, the inability of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s led administration to carry out its basic responsibilities to the people .
Nwosu stated this in a chat with newsme at the 2024 Ofala festival of the Traditional Ruler of Onitsha and the Chairman, Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Obi Alfred Nnaeneka Achebe in his palace in Onitsha.
He noted that Soludo-led administration has failed in the areas of security, electricity,health and commerce, which he said people of the state were known for.
“I am aspiring for Govrnorship in the November 8 gurbarnitorial election in Anambra State, because the current leadership in the state has failed the people.
“Security is not there, electricity is not there, where is health? what is our people known for? Our people are know for commerce, there is no enabling environment for them”.
“Yes, if the Governor is doing well, i am an ICT consultant and an economist, i wouldn’t have any business in coming to run for Governorship position in the state, but i think, we deserve a better representative in the government house,” he said.
Nwosu, a native of Odida Nnewi Ichi in Nnewi North Local Government Area, assured the people that he has all it takes to librate Anambra State from the shackles of under development come November 8 next year.
Also, former Secretary to Anambra State Government, Mr Oseloka Henry Obaze, said that Obi of Onitsha has brought refreshment, civility, respect and dignity since he ascended the throne as custodian of culture to Onitsha Kingdom.
He described this year’s ofala festival of Obi Achebe as outstanding , wishing the Onitsha Monarch well, good health, strength and prosperity as he continued to pilot the affairs of the ancient Onitsha kingdom.
On the November 8 gurbarnitorial election in the State, Mr.Obaze,who was the governorship candidate of People’s Democratic Party in 2017 election in Anambra State, said that they were glad that INEC announced the time- table for the election early enough to allow all the parties in the state prepare for the election.
He observed that there are 99 political parties in Nigeria and all of them are expected to participate in the governorship election in Anambra State, adding that Labour Party as the largest political party in the country today, is the party to beat in the election.
According to him, there is no local government election in Anambra State, pointing out that Labour Party did not participate in the election as a political party, because they cannot change the the rules of the games in the middle of the games as Governor Soludo is trying to do.
“So, we said that we will not participate, he picked his own people, ran a charred and said that they were elected, that is up to him,we are in court”,he said.
He noted that the Labour Party had many governorship aspirants and all are his friends, stating that each person must support one person or support all of them and made it very clear that he is supporting Mr.John Nwosu,pending the out come of the primary election
