The MD/CEO Jimez Petroleum Resources Limited, Hon. Chief Jim Okolo Chimezie has been conferred with the prestigious honour of Democracy Advocate of the Year in recognition of his numerous contributions towards strengthening civilian rule.
The award was conferred on him by renowned media organization, Igbere TV the organisers of Leadership Excellence (LEEX) Award.
The highly star-studded award ceremony took place on Saturday at the banquet hall of NAF Conference Centre Abuja.
A renowned business tycoon who plays in the country’s oil and gas sector, the awardee who could not hide his joy for the recognition.
“Today (Saturday) being 2nd November, 2024, I received the most prestigious 6th Leadership Excellence(LEEX)award for the category of “DEMOCRACY ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR” at NAF Conference Center, Abuja”, he posted on social media.
The award was presented to him by a former member of the Senate from Anambra state, Sen. Ekwunife who herself was also honoured.
Chief Jim Okolo Chimezie is well known in both social, political and humanitarian cycle. He is a renowned philanthropist who has made immense contributions in community development and offering support to less privileged members of the society.
A political leader and business mogul, he plays in the country’s oil and gas industry and wields over a decade experience.
He has become a regular face in regional and international politics in recent times where he makes immense contributions in ensuring development and democracy and sanctity of electoral process.
He is a UN-appointed International Elections Diplomat. This came after an intensive training which took place in the Republic of Benin earlier in the year.
Since then, he has been engaging in election observation missions across the world.
He is also billed to jet out of the country to participate as one of the international observers in the US elections next week.
