The Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) has recognized and celebrated seventeen companies in Nnewi and environs with thirty nine brands of products.

SON said those companies had demonstrated excellence by achieving the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) certification or recertification.

Speaking during the award presentation and products exhibition in Anambra State office II, Nnewi, Director General of the organization, Dr Ifeanyi Chukwunonso Okeke, noted that the awards were more than just certificates.

The DG whose address was read by Mr Gabriel Agefe from Anambra said the awards were a reflection of hard work, adherence to best practices, and a shared vision for quality and sustainability.

He advised those yet to achieve MANCAP certification to be inspired by the event to take pro-active steps towards aligning with the standards that would unlock new opportunities and strengthen their business resilience.

The told them that SON remained ready to provide the necessary technical support, guidance, and capacity-building.

He also reminded the awardees that their processes and products would continually be subjected to quarterly inspection and test in order to ensure that quality is not only sustained but also upheld.

“The event is a celebration of excellence, innovation, and unyielding commitment of our local manufacturers to meet and exceed the quality standards that drive Nigeria’s industrial economic growth and consumer confidence.

“Standards are the backbone of sustainable industrialization and economic development. They provide the framework for consistent quality, safety, and reliability, enabling businesses to gain consumer trust and compete effectively in both local and global markets.

“At the SON, our mission is to promote these standards as a critical tool for transforming our industries and enhancing the well-being of Nigerians. MANCAP is a testament to this mission, “the DG had said.
