Int’l Writers Day: Remain Steadfast In Your Craft – Author Okafor Tells Writers

As the world marks International Writers’ Day, celebrated author Okafor Benjamin Chiemelie takes a moment to reflect on his remarkable journey, while encouraging fellow writers to remain steadfast in their craft.

Chiemelie, who has been writing since his primary school days, has amassed an impressive portfolio of 11 books, including his debut novel “Igwe Onyenauche,” “Agony of a Couple,” “Forgive Me Mother,” “Neither Rain nor Dew,” and “Starvation,” among others.

His works have been widely acclaimed, earning him several prestigious awards, including the coveted “Celebrity Author of the Year” award from the Anambra State Authors’ Association.

Chiemelie’s commitment to storytelling has not only inspired a generation of writers but has also contributed significantly to Nigeria’s literary landscape. His books have been incorporated into the curricula of various institutions across the country, with several secondary schools recommending his works as part of their educational programs.
