Yet-to-be-ascertained number of persons are feared dead in Anambra State, following the crash of a trailer with a 40-feet container.
The crash reportedly occurred in the eventide of Tuesday at the popular Idemili Junction, with some victims, tricycles and a shuttle bus trapped under the trailer.
This was corroborated by videos from the scene of the crash which have gone viral on social media, showing some body parts of some of the trapped persons and the vehicles.
The videos also show some officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police carrying out rescue operation in the area.
Although, full details of the crash are yet to be gathered as at the time of this publication, eyewitness accounts have it that the speeding trailer failed brake and crashed, crushing both the tricycles loading at the Junction, some passengers, and some bystanders waiting for vehicles.
When this reporter, Izunna Okafor, contacted her, the Spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Anambra State, RC Margaret Onobe, simply confirmed the crash and promised to make more details available sooner.
