Traditional Ruler of Obaofemili in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra state, Igwe Ezekwesili Maduegbuna has expressed satisfaction with the Governor Chukwuma Soludo-led administration, saying the government deserved a second term.

He said the state could not afford to lose the governor to any other candidate in view of the unprecedented developmental milestones going on in the state.

Speaking during a visit of a philanthropist, Hon Oliver Nwannebuike Okennah to one of the schools in his community where he renovated the destroyed roof of a classroom block, the monarch assured the governor of the community’s 100% votes for him.

“But today’s gesture has proved that many are understanding and responding to the governor’s clarion call. We’ve seen the demonstration by Okenna.

“He was not coarsed by anybody. But out of his magnanimity, he willingly chose three schools to assist them. This is of great joy to us, to say the least.

“We’re also grateful to the governor, the man that saw tomorrow and the potentials in this community and built road for us within 11months.

“Nobody has broken that record before. The roads are not just standard but durable. We seize this opportunity to assure him that the community is ready for him for the next four years, making it 8years.

“We don’t want those who will learn on the job, gallivanting up and down. We rather want someone already solid and grounded and Soludo is that man.

“His achievements, especially in infrastructural development and education is not only evident in Obaofemili, but across the state.

“Before now, our famers find it difficult to export their farm produce for marketing in the city center due to bad roads. But now, customers now come to this community to buy goods. Some even pay in advance.

“For other wealthy indigenes, I urge them to emulate Okenna instead of all these fragrant displaying of big cars with massive security during festivities, drinking and partying.

“Let them help the community and traditional rulers by developing the community. Nobody knows what these children will be in future.”

Earlier, the philanthropist, Okennah who is also winner of the NUJ 2024 Anambra State most innovative entrepreneur of the year award, said his visit to the schools was informed by his passion for education and his readiness to better the lots of the pupils.

He said, “I thank Igwe for all he’s doing which speaks for him. It’s always joy and fun for me anytime I visit home. I spend time visiting schools within the neighborhood.

“One of the things that inspire me is my love and passion for education. Besides, as someone born and raised in the community, I’ll always like to give back to my people and to see the joy in them.

“I’ll always like to see them succeed like every other child across the world. As one with children outside the country, when I compare my children with those here, it pains me, and I feel I can contribute to better their conditions.

“I also thank the governor who has given hope to the people, including the quality roads he has built for us.

“We pray others will key into what we’re doing. Government alone can’t develop a society. Any child that is changed is a hope for the future.”
