Private Education Network of Schools Association of Nigeria (PENSAN) has commended the Anambra state government for making it easier for private school owners to operate in the state.

Chairman, Christian Nwanosike stated this during a visit to Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh in her office.

He said Prof Chukwuma Soludo-led government has provided an enabling environment, a significant improvement over previous administrations.

Nwanosike who endorsed the Governor for a second term also lauded the leadership of Chuma Udeh, saying her approach to addressing his group’s concerns had helped reduce fears of unwanted intrusion by unauthorized parties.

“The government has provided an enabling environment, a significant improvement over previous administrations.

“Your compassionate approach to addressing concerns of private school owners has helped reduce fears of unwanted intrusion and excessive oversight by unauthorized parties,” he stated.
Responding, Commissioner Chuma-Udeh reiterated Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s unwavering commitment to supporting private school owners.

She said the commitment was evident in easing concerns over potential harassment and intimidation from external sources.

She emphasized the critical role of private schools in the state’s education system, a fact fully recognized by the Governor.

She assured the association that all children of school age belong to the state, regardless of the sector they were enrolled in.

While reaffirming government’s openness to collaborating with the private school sector, Chuma-Udeh expressed readiness to address any unwarranted taxation or interference from charlatans.
