A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon.Dr.Ifeanyi Ibezi is under fire over public endorsement of Anambra State Governor and flag bearer of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in the November 8 Governorship election, Prof Chukwuma Soludo.
Ibezi to face a 5-man disciplinary committee of the APC headed by Chief Hon. Humphrey Nsofor.
The State Working Committee (SWC) of Anambra State chapter of APC has set up a disciplinary committee to look into Ibezi utterances in a recent viral video where he was reported to have spoken glowingly of Soludo.
The members of the disciplinary committee included Chief Hon. Humphrey Nsofor – Chairman; Sir Chris Jnr. – Secretary; Lady Ifeyinwa Chinwuko Chinweike – Member; Hon. Theo Nnorom – Member and Chief Arinze Awogu – Member.
In the said viral video, Ibezi was seen describing the Governor as a great achiever, thus making nonsensical efforts of the APC to replace him.
In a release by Chris Udeze, Director of Publicity, APC, SWC noted that the party was highly embarrassed by Ibezi’s open endorsement of Soludo which it views as defiant display of anti party activity.
According to the release, the committee has two weeks to submit it’s report.
