Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) has vowed to step up its regulatory supervision as the only Federal Government approved regulatory body over private security guard companies in Anambra state.

Commandant Maku Olatunde, the NSCDC State Commandant stated this when he played host to Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN) Anambra State Chapter at the State Command Headquarters Awka.

He emphasised the need for private security companies to operate professionally, updating their records and building cordial relationships with the NSCDC and other conventional security agencies.

He promised to enhance the activities of private security guard companies in Anambra State to conform with the laid-down procedures guiding the operations of PGCs in the country.

ALPSPN boss, Dr. Okon Antai reaffirmed his organization’s commitment to collaborating with the NSCDC to stamp out unlicensed security operators and enforce regulatory standards in the state.

“The partnership will likely enhance the state’s security landscape by exclusively allowing licensed professionals to operate, protect members of the public and foster a safer environment for end – users/clients through effective regulation and enforcement against illegitimate security providers,” he added.
