She emphasized that training and retraining have been integral to the Society since its inception.

Agbakuru stated this during a courtesy visit by Executive of the Association to the Acting Director General of the Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State (BCA), Comrade Francis Nwaubani, in his office

Agbakuru requested collaboration between the SNB and the BCA to publicize the Society, its lectures, and the upcoming Abia SNB induction.

She also informed the DG that out of the newly elected seven-member substantive executive committee of the SNB, three are BCA staff.

Contributing, an ex-officio member, Sir Chimdi Oluoha, explained that the SNB serves as a platform for all media workers in the broadcast industry and encouraged everyone, including the Acting DG, to participate in the Society.

In response, Sir Francis Nwaubani, the Acting DG of the BCA, warmly welcomed the SNB members and congratulated them on the establishment of their substantive executive committee.

He expressed his happiness at having an organization dedicated to ensuring professionalism in the broadcast sector and assured them of the station’s willingness to collaborate with the SNB, particularly in the training of staff.

He mentioned that the station would support SNB to the best of its ability, noting that there may be a request for a nominal fee for publicity when necessary, and he would consider the request to join the Society.

Delivering the vote of thanks, Chinenye Iwuoha, a veteran broadcaster, expressed appreciation to the Acting DG and the management team for their warm reception and their promise to assist the SNB, while also praying for God’s blessings on everyone involved.
