The Nigeria’s Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu-Ejidike (JP), has felicitated Christian faithful in Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Easter celebration. This was contained in the press release he personally signed and made available to news men in Lagos on Sunday.
Ejidike, who is the patron of the Nigerian Football Supporters Club (NFSC) reminds Christians to always remember the reason for the season – Jesus Christ who sacrificed himself so that mankind could be saved, and follow in his footsteps.
The Nnewi-born Sports philanthropist describes Easter as a celebration of sacrifice by “our Lord Jesus Christ” who died on the cross for the salvation of humanity. He therefore calls on Nigerians to follow the ways of Christ and be willing to always sacrifice for the general wellbeing of the society.
In the spirit of the Easter celebration, the Pillar of Sports, who had also served as the President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), calls on critical stakeholders in the Nigerian sporting community to sacrifice for the development of the sector, for the long term benefit of the country rather than focusing on instant gratifications, so that the “Renewed Hope in Nigeria for Sports Economy” (RINSE) policy of the Federal Government can become reality. He equally urged all Sports lovers in the country to do everything within their individual capacities to render any necessary sacrifice for the development of sports in Nigeria for the benefit of the overall national development.
