It was all tears and litany of tributes as Senator Joy Emodi bid in-law farewell.

The deceased, Chief Adindu Alexander Ezeamu (Anaeliaku na Ekwulobia) 55-year-old, who passed away unexpectedly during a vacation in the Maldives, was laid to rest in his hometown,Ekwulobia amidst heartfelt tributes.

The burial drew political and community leaders, including Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, who described Chief Ezeamu as an exceptional man dedicated to uplifting the Igbo community. “His death shocked us all,” Ngige said. “He was passionate about impacting lives, and I’m here to honor him.”

Chief Innocent Okey Muojekwu, President of the Ekwulobia Traditional Council of Chiefs, called Ezeamu a pillar of the community. “We’ve been grieving since the news broke. Ekwulobia lost a great personality, and we’d have done anything to avert this tragedy,” he said, conveying the traditional ruler’s condolences.

Chief Ifeanyi Ogwata, the Owelle of Ekwulobia, hailed Ezeamu as a patriot dubbed Dikenemelora for his remarkable contributions. “He built roads, empowered the less privileged, and achieved in 55 years what many couldn’t in 90,” Ogwata said, urging the family to find solace in his legacy.

Representatives from Ezeamu’s alma mater, Marist Brothers, led by Chukwuemeka Philip of the Abuja Chapter of the Old Boys Association (XJAYS), mourned him as a charitable pillar. “Our group will stand by his family forever,” Philip pledged.

In her emotional tribute, Senator Joy Emodi described Ezeamu as “a man with a heart of gold” who lived for others. “He was my trusted ally, confidant, and Mr. Fixit—a versatile problem-solver who thrived in challenges,” she said.

During the burial Mass at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Ekwulobia, Reverend Father Alphonsus Ezeoke urged attendees to emulate Ezeamu’s impactful life to secure eternal reward.

Dignitaries present included former APC gubernatorial aspirant Valentine Ozigbo, former Senator Uche Ekwunife, Dr. Kene Nweke, Chief Dr. Kene Ekwueme, and Dr. Kevin Ayogu, among others.
