The Umudora Okpala Ukwu Anam community in Ezi-Anam ward, Anambra West Local Government Area of Anambra State was thrown into celebration following commissioning of standard new school building in the area by Hon Peter Udogalaya Aniekwe, Member representing Anambra East and West Federal Constituency.
Elderly men and women, youth and children had thronged out enmass during the commissioning of the new school building constructed by the lawmaker within a year and some months of his election.
Speaking after the commissioning, one of the elders, Ogbuevi Samson Ndubife said the benefactor had done what no other representative in the past could do for them.
“Since I was born as a native of Umudora Anam, no other representative in the past has done what Aniekwe has done for us.
“We the people of Umudora Okpala Ukwu Anam will continue to throw our weighty support behind MacPee Milinaliugwu of Omambala as he is fondly called by Ndi Omambala in his future political endeavours,” he stressed.
While commissioning the project earlier, Senator Tony Okechukwu Nwoye, the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial zone urged Umudora Anam community to remain prayerful and supportive to their vision.
“What we have seen today is nothing to compare to what MacPee and I have in mind to do for the people of Anambra North Senatorial zone/ Anambra East and West,” he added.
Nwoye congratulated Aniekwe for using a qualified engineer for the execution of the project.
He pledged to renovate the old community primary school building in Umudora Anam.
President General of Ezi-Anam ward, Chief Charles Igbanugo Okafor (Akuatuegwu) who spoke on behalf of Ezi-Anam ward expressed optimism that more democracy dividend from the legislator would come their way.
“We supported Hon Aniekwe because he has been a nice man, which everybody knows.
“By God’s grace I believe he will do more. People need to have it at the back of their minds that we have 25 wards in Anambra East and West Federal Constituency and Hon. Aniekwe must touch them all,” he said.
