The Anambra State Police Command, in continuation of its Easter security operations, has demonstrated its commitment to the safety and welfare of residents by promptly assisting an unidentified man who collapsed along the road in Awada, Onitsha, the commercial city of the State.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga who disclosed this in Awka, on Saturday, said the incident occurred by 5pm, today, 4th April 2026, when Police Operatives attached to the Awada Division, while on routine Easter patrol along the Onitsha/Owerri Road, observed the man lying helpless by the roadside. The officers swiftly responded by ensuring his immediate evacuation from the scene to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention.

Preliminary information suggests that the victim may have suffered a medical emergency, possibly due to high blood pressure. Thanks to the timely intervention of the Police Operatives, the victim was stabilised and is currently responding to treatment at the hospital.
