Anambra Police Commissioner Seeks Public’s Help in Unraveling Murder of Pregnant Lady
The Anambra State Police Command has launched an investigation into the gruesome murder of a pregnant lady found hanging on a cashew tree along Uke/Ideani road in Idemili North. Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has called on stakeholders and community leaders to assist with information to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The body of the deceased, yet to be identified, was recovered by police operatives from Ogidi Police Division and deposited in the mortuary. CP Orutugu described the incident as unfortunate and a stark example of “man’s inhumanity to man”.
The police command has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident and is appealing to members of the public to help identify the deceased and provide any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
This is not the first time the Anambra Police Command has sought public cooperation in solving crimes, as seen in the case of the alleged murder in Nnewi where a trigger-happy security operative shot a lady, Chiamaka Okeke.
CP Orutugu has assured that the command is committed to ensuring justice is served in this case, echoing similar sentiments expressed in the case of the three siblings found dead in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area.²
