The Anambra State Police Command and the Nzukọ Odinani Welfare Association have agreed to work together to address social issues and enhance harmony between law enforcement and traditional cultural institutions in the state.

This was the outcome of a courtesy visit by the leadership of the Association to the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at the State Police Headquarters in Awka.

Receiving the delegation, CP Orutugu expressed the willingness of the Police Command to partner with the group in promoting public safety and improving the overall security well-being of communities across the state. He emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between formal policing and indigenous customs in order to build trust and achieve better cooperation with the people.

He assured the Command of the Association’s readiness to collaborate with security agencies in exposing criminal elements who hide under the guise of traditional practices to commit crimes.

Nze Izuegbu further pledged that the Association would work closely with the Police to identify and expose individuals involved in preparing criminal charms and perpetrating unlawful traditional practices that undermine peace and security in the state.
