Nigeria’s former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has accepted a new international role as an Advisor to the Club de Madrid. She made the announcement on Tuesday via a post on her official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
In her statement, Ezekwesili described Club de Madrid as the world’s largest forum of democratic former Presidents and Prime Ministers. She explained that the organization brings together experienced global leaders who use their individual and collective expertise to promote inclusive democratic practices and improve global well-being.

Expressing her enthusiasm, she noted the urgent need for effective leadership amid growing global challenges and emphasized the importance of the forum’s work in bridging leadership gaps and addressing pressing global issues. She concluded her message by expressing her appreciation for the group’s continued dedication and her commitment to supporting their mission.
