The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 9, as public holidays to mark the 2025 Eid-ul-Adha celebration. This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who extended warm congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both within Nigeria and abroad on the occasion of the important Islamic festival.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo called on Muslims to reflect on the values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him), encouraging all citizens to use the holiday period to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity across the country.

In a statement issued by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reforms and initiatives under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aim to restore Nigeria’s trajectory toward national development.

As Nigerians prepare for the festivities, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged all citizens to support the administration’s efforts in rebuilding the nation and working together to reclaim its rightful place as a strong and united country.
