It was all jubilation in Ifite Village, Nteje, Anambra State as one of their illustratious Sons,Dr. Phillip Ozuah, a US-based medical doctor launched a food outreach program in his community.
Anambra People gathered that the gesture was initiated to assist his kinsmen navigate the current hardship and economic challenges facing the country.
Dr. Ozuah made headlines in 2023 for his generous donation of $1 million to his alma mater, the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital.
During a gathering of his kinsmen in Umuanugwa Community Hall , Ifite, Nteje(Built by him), Dr. Ozuah announced that every family in the village would receive 50kg bag of rice and same size bag of beans.
The food Outreach program is estimated to cost between 150 to 200 Million Naira based on the current cost of food items in the country.
Dr. Ozuah who spoke fluently in Igbo, expressed confidence that this intervention will go a long way.
In his entourage were his siblings Chief Chinedu Kevin Ozuah, Chinelo (Iyom Mercury) , Ifunanya and a Nigeria’s consul-General in New York, Amb. Abubakar Jidda.
Dr Philip Ozuah, is a paediatrician and a dedicated researcher. He is a professor and university chairman in paediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and a physician-in-chief of Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. Currently, he is the CEO and President of Montefiore Einstein, overseeing 13 hospitals, 300 ambulatory sites (clinics), and 7.5 million patient a year.
