Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects, Onele Solomon, also known as Federal, and Simeon Chidera, alias Chaplet, both 23 years old, in connection with a reported case of kidnapping, armed robbery, and attempted murder in Umudioka, Dunukofia Local Government Area.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects allegedly lured their victim with a fake land sale, abducted him, and demanded ransom while inflicting life-threatening injuries.

“The two suspects on May 31, 2025, abducted a victim, dispossessed him of his personal belongings, and inflicted life-threatening injuries on him with a machete,” Ikenga said.

They kept the victim in one of their criminal dens while demanding ransom from his family members and friends. Fortunately, the victim escaped from their den and was debriefed by police operatives.

Ikenga further stated that the operatives have activated onslaught operations to arrest other gang members and dismantle the criminal network in the area, following the confessions of the two suspects currently in custody.
