President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has honored Anambra-born Samuel Chukwudi Ezeanolue with the prestigious President’s NYSC Honors Award. He was among the 200 Ex-Corp members honoured recently in Abuja for their exceptional contributions during their service year.
Ezeanolue, a corps member who served in Kogi State, was recognized for his outstanding contributions to his host community, Oboroke-Ihima.

During his service year in 2020, Ezeanolue successfully executed over 15 different Personal Community Development Service (CDS) projects, including donating bookshelves, tables, and chairs to Joyous Academy Secondary School, conducting seminars on HIV/AIDS sensitization, and establishing digital press clubs and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) clubs in secondary schools.

According to Ezeanolue, these efforts earned him recognition from government officials, traditional rulers, and private individuals.
He was equally awarded a prestigious award for meritorious service and conferred with honorary citizenship of Okehi Local Government Area. He was also named the Overall Best Corps Member in Kogi for 2021 Service Year.
The Anambra State Born prodigy also received a chieftaincy title of Ozi Oyiza of Ihima (Blessed Son of Ihima).
As part of the honors, President Tinubu has announced their immediate employment into the Federal Civil Service, scholarship up to Doctorate Degree in any Federal University in Nigeria, and a cash prize of NGN250,000 to all the 200 ex-corp members who served from 2020-2023.

The President was represented at the occasion by Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, Minister of State, Labour and Employment.
Speaking at the occasion the minister congratulated the ex-corp members and hinted that the process of actualizing the President’s promises has commenced and were being handled by NYSC.

In his reaction, Ezeanolue said “I see this award not just as a recognition of patriotism and service to humanity, but as a renewed call to action.
“It’s a push to do more, and I am committed to upholding the same mindset and diligence in making a difference; by impacting my immediate environment and contributing to national development to the best of my ability.”

Samuel Ezeanolue was born into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ezeanolue of Oko Community, Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State.
He gained admission to study Economics at the prestigious Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State in November, 2015, where he graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with Second Class Upper Division.
