A young man identified simply as Chigbo, who was believed to have traveled to Europe was found chained and locked up inside a hut by his family members for the past five years in Etiti village in Igbo-Ukwu, Anambra State .

It was gathered that Chigbo’s family members told his friends that he had travelled abroad in 2021.

The circumstances surrounding his confinement and the perpetrators remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

A video making the round on social media shows the moment Chigbo regained his freedom .
“I’ve been locked here since July 3rd, 2021,” he said, clearly relieved.

This chilling discovery has thrown the entire community into shock and outrage, with many demanding for justice.
