The Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s foremost funeral brand, Apams Funeral Limited, Dr. Kevin Chukwumobi, has reflected on his life at 55, describing it as a journey full of gratitude, faith, resilience, and divine blessings.

This was part of the highlight of the veteran burial undertaker’s interview with newsmen on the occasion of his 55th birthday, during which he reflected on his life journey and said he considers himself richly blessed and deeply humbled by the opportunities God has given him, particularly in building the Apams brand from scratch into what has today become a household name across the country and beyond.

According to him, the journey of over three decades in the industry has been anything but easy, as it came with years of dreams, vision, hard work, disappointments, and failures, but also resounding successes that have made the efforts worthwhile. He described the story of Apams as one of perseverance, faith, and dogged commitment to service.

“I live a life full of gratitude. Building Apams from nothing to what it is today has been a journey of faith, hard work, and perseverance. As an entrepreneur operating in a very challenging socio-economic environment, it’s been over 30 years of dreams, vision, work, failures, disappointments, but also resounding successes,” he said.

Dr. Chukwumobi explained that his mission in the funeral business has always been one of service to humanity, honoring the dead while at the same time serving the living. This, he noted, has made his work not only unique but also deeply fulfilling.

“My business connects deeply to humanity. It’s so fulfilling making a difference in people’s lives at their most vulnerable moments,” he stated.

The Apams CEO, who has been widely commended for revolutionizing the funeral service industry in Nigeria, expressed special appreciation to the staff of his company, whom he described as a vital pillar of his success story. He revealed that some of his employees have been with the brand since inception, buying fully into his vision and standing firm even during the most challenging phases of building the enterprise.

“I am particularly grateful for the kind of staff at Apams. Having a quality and loyal workforce is one of the biggest challenges for most entrepreneurs. Yet, at Apams, we still have employees who started with us from the very beginning. They stayed committed, loyal, and totally bought into my vision of the industry,” he stated.

Dr. Chukwumobi also acknowledged the invaluable support of his family, noting that their love and encouragement have been a source of strength throughout his journey. He described his wife and children as wonderful, and as an integral part of his accomplishments and joy at 55.

“Having a very supportive family is so very essential. My wife and kids have been wonderful. Honestly, at 55, with good health, a thriving business, and a family filled with love, I can’t complain. I feel so blessed,” he affirmed.

With gratitude as his recurring theme, the undertaker-turned-icon reiterated that his 55th birthday is not just a personal milestone but also indicative of God’s faithfulness and blessings in his life and career as an entrepreneur.
