Breaking: Prof Bond Anyaehie Emerges UNIZIK VC

Nnamdi Azikiwe University has announced the appointment of Professor Ugochukwu Bond Stanley Anyaehie as its new substantive Vice-Chancellor, effective November 19, 2025.

The appointment was approved by the university’s Governing Council for a single tenure of five years.

 

Professor Anyaehie, a renowned professor of Physiology and Clinical Measurements, was appointed by the Pro-chancellor and Chairman, Barr. Monsur Kukoyi Olugbenga.

He will take over from Professor (Dame) Carol Chinyelugo Arinze-Umobi, who has been serving as the Acting Vice-Chancellor.

The announcement was made through a press release from the Office of the Head, Information & Public Relations at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, on November 16, 2025.
