The Special Adviser on Community Security to Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, Prince Ken Emeakayi, has directed Agunechemba operatives to immediately raid and take control of all known hideouts and camps used by criminal groups across Anambra State for violent and unlawful activities.
The directive forms part of an intensified strategy to dismantle the operations of so-called “unknown gunmen” and restore security across communities in the state.
Prince Emeakayi issued the order during a meeting with the leadership of the grassroots security units.
He commended their recent successes in curbing the activities of youths involved in kidnapping, ransom operations, and other organized crimes, instead of pursuing lawful livelihoods.
Reassuring communities, particularly those previously terrorized by the criminal elements,Emeakayi noted that Agunechemba operatives are now better equipped and more strategically positioned to secure affected areas.
He thanked Governor Soludo for providing enhanced surveillance equipment, including advanced camera systems and earth-moving vehicles, which will support the mission to dislodge criminal groups from their forest camps and urban hideouts.
In a press release issued on Monday in Awka, and signed by the Media and Publicity Secretary of Agunechemba, Comrade Nweke, Prince Emeakayi also expressed appreciation to the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, for his consistent operational support and collaboration in tackling emerging threats across Anambra.
“I extend my sincere gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, for the logistics, equipment, and operational backing provided to Agunechemba as we intensify our campaign against crime,”
“I equally commend our operatives for their discipline and courage, which have been instrumental in achieving these breakthroughs. We will continue to recognize our partners, particularly Commissioner of Police Ikioye Orutugu and his team, whose contributions have enabled displaced community members to return home safely.”Emeakayi said.
He further announced a heightened security strategy for the festive season.
“As we approach the Yuletide, we are deploying a proactive security framework designed to neutralize criminal operations before they take root. We are no longer waiting for kidnappers or armed groups to strike,we are taking the fight to their enclaves. Any parent who knows that his child is hiding in the forests or involved with these criminal gangs should intervene immediately. No responsible person chooses to live in the bush,” Prince Emeakayi stated.
