The African Action Congress (AAC), Anambra State Chapter, has elected Chioma Grace Ifemeludike, its governorship candidate in the recently held election, as the chairman of the party.

Ifemeludike, who was the party’s State Chairman before she emerged the AAC governorship candidate, will head the executive that is expected to take the party to an enviable height.

According to a statement signed by Anyanwu Chinedu Anthony, Publicity Secretary, AAC, Anambra State Chapter, the state congress which was held on Friday at De Nobles Hotel, Awka, was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

In her post-election speech, Ifemeludike, while thanking the party members for the confidence reposed in her, reaffirmed the AAC’s unshakable belief in its ability to deliver transparent, people-centred governance that Ndị-Anambra have long craved for.

The statement added: “We restated our total commitment to the revolutionary ideals of the AAC and to the vision of our gubernatorial candidate in the just-concluded election, Chioma Grace Ifemeludike.

“We also used the occasion to formally register our deep dissatisfaction with the conduct and outcome of the November 8, 2025, gubernatorial election.

“The process fell far short of the free, fair, and credible standards Nigerians expect, and we will continue to speak truth to power until electoral integrity is restored in Anambra State.

“Even as we push for justice, the AAC remains fully focused on the future. The newly elected executives have hit the ground running with a clear mandate.”

The party listed the mandate as follows: To intensify grassroots mobilisation and keep the revolutionary fire burning across the 21 local government areas;

“To champion mechanised agriculture, youth and women empowerment, and small-business support that will create real jobs and put money in people’s pockets.

“To sustain the fight for community-driven security, affordable education, quality healthcare, and infrastructure that actually serves the people.

“To hold power accountable every single day until good governance ceases to be a slogan and becomes reality.
