Diaspora Group Donates 50 Hospital Beds To Anambra Hospital

Awka Union Houston Texas, United States of America has donated fifty hospital beds to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching hospital, Amaku Awka.

 

Welcoming his guests, the Chief Medical Director of COOUTH, Dr. Joe Akabuike noted that what Awka Union Houston Texas did is investment in the right direction, and that they will utilize the equipment optimally, adding that the gesture symbolizes the history of people who remembers home as the best thing someone can offer humanity is to give them adequate health care services as governmen alone cannot do it.

 

The President of the Union, Dr.Eddy Uyanwune, pointed out that it is an epoch making occasion, and that they decided to lend a helping hand to the hospital to improve its infrastructural developments, saying that even in developed countries of the world, organizations and individuals are supporting the government to develop the society, adding that they will continue to support the government in the areas of health and education.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Anambra State government, the State Commissioner for Heath, Dr Afam Obidike, maintained that government is highly delighted about what the union did as according to him, the hospital has the capacity to treat all forms of sicknesses, and that government has done tremendously well in investment for health.

 

According to Dr. Akabuike, most Ndi Anambra unions in America are doing fantastically well in supporting the State, and that the State government will continue to partner individuals and organizations to improve the health sector, citing numerous works the Governor has done in the hospital both in infrastructure and human resource development.
