The traditional ruler of Umueri, Anambra-East Local Government Area, Anambra State, HRM Igwe Sir Dr. Ben Izuchukwu Emeka, JP, has been nominated as the only Grand Patron of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Anambra State chapter.
Announcing the nomination weekend, the Anambra State chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Sir Humphrey Emeka Nwafor, said all the nominations from people went for Igwe Emeka, making him to be emerge unanimously as NLC Anambra Grand Patron.
He informed that as a Grand patron of the NLC, his duties are in mediation, intervention and solidarity for the union at all times while the union will always stand by him as it’s a conjugal sort of relationship.
Comrade Nwafor informed that the antecedents of the Oke Ebo 11 of Umueri
as a philanthropist extraordinary and employer of labour via his companions as the Executive Chairman, New Idea Construction Company Limited and Hilton Leisure Resorts and Hotels stood him out.
Igwe Emeka while accepting the nomination as Grand Patron of NLC Anambra State chapter, appreciated NLC Anambra Chapter led by Comrade Humphrey Emeka Nwafor for the nomination, assuring that he won’t disappoint on the expectations of the office.
Igwe Emeka is an outstanding monarch and an honorary doctorate degree holder in Business Administration from Paul University, Awka, Anambra state.
