The Chairman of the 4th Founder’s Day at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Chief Chikwe Udensi, has promised to build an Ethical Centre for the university. This was revealed during his concluding remarks while delivering his Chairman’s speech at the event, which is ongoing. The European Union’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Gautier Mignot, is at the event and will deliver the keynote address. Ambassador Mignot was received by the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, yesterday evening, at the Government House of Anambra State. Also in attendance is Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, State, the widow of the Late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Dr. ABC Ojiakor of Seplat, among other dignitaries.

Speaking on the three Vs of the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Kate Omenugha, which are: values, visibility, and viability, Chief Udensi pointed out that character is essential for knowledge to become useful to society. He also emphasized that an educated but corrupt man is a danger to society because corruption backed by knowledge is difficult to curb, Udensi argued. It is in the light of this argument on ethics as the requirement for the greater good that he pledged to build an ethical centre for the university.
