It was a jubilation galore at the Palace of the Traditional ruler of Obosi kingdom, His Majesty, Igwe Chidubem Iweka Eze Iweka III as Bethany Bible Seminary, BBS, a member of United States Department of Higher Education issued him with a Honourary Doctorate certificate as Doctor of Divinity and Exceptional Leadership Award of Recognition.

Issuing the certificates to Igwe Iweka, the President/Chancellor of BBS, Bishop Prof. Miracle Vincent Fidelis hinted that Obosi indigenes in the Diaspora, particularly those in United States of America are highly impressed with the Igwe’s performances since he ascended the Igweship throne as the traditional ruler of Obosi ancient kingdom.

Accompanied by Dr. Sunday Iwenofu, BBS Nigerian National Coordinator, Fidelis made a particular reference to the crowning of a chieftaincy title on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Igwe Iweka as Chairman of Anambra state Council of Traditional Rulers, during Tinubu’s state visit to Anambra state.

According to Fidelis, “as an indigene of Obosi Ukwalla kingdom, when I sat in the comfort of my home at New Jersey, USA and watched Igwe crowning Tinubu with a chieftaincy title on behalf of the Anambra state council of traditional rulers, I felt proud and highly elated that my own Igwe has become a prominent figure not only in Anambra state or Southeast but in Nigeria as a whole”.

Explaining that BBS is not only merely issuing certificates to graduands but also shape reformers, training ethical leaders and equip kingdom professionals for church, society, governance and global influence, Fidelis disclosed that BBS is registered accredited and affiliated to consolidation of ministries and theological education accreditation Commission (Nigeria), United Christian Bible Education Accreditation Commission (USA and UK), among other global Christian Bible institutions.

Responding, Igwe Iweka commended BBS for finding him worthy of the honourary award and assured them that he would continue to do his best to make the people proud while sitting on the throne as Eze Obosi and as Chairman of Anambra state council of traditional rulers.

In their separate speeches, the President-General of Obosi Development Union (ODU) Worldwide, Barrister Chimezie Obi (Nze Chinechendo) and President of Obosi Urban, Chief Emeka Asimonye (Dikedioramma), thumped up their hands for both the BBS family for their eagle eyes in detecting the Igwe for the award and the Igwe himself for carving a nitche for himself that attracted the attention of such a foreign big institution.

Obi and Asimonye used the occasion to notify the general public to henceforth, address Igwe Iweka as Igwe Dr. Chidubem Iweka now that he has been given a well deserved honourary doctorate degree by the BBS.
