Anambra Police support abused minor with cash, vow justice

Anambra State Police Command has provided financial support to facilitate urgent medical treatment of the 10-year old boy allegedly subjected to severe abuse by his guardian in Isiowulu, Awada, Obosi, in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state.

 

The Command made the donation through its Operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka.

Spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga who disclosed this on Thursday said the Command rendered the support for the victim’s medical care and recovery after witnessing the severity of his condition and pain.

According to him, the gesture underscores the Command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable members of the society, especially children and ensuring that victims of abuse receive the necessary care and support.

 

“The Command has intensified its investigation into the incident and is committed to ensuring that all individuals found culpable are brought to justice in accordance with the law.

 

“The Police remain steadfast in enforcing laws designed to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and all forms of violence.

 

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu reassures residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to collaborating with relevant government agencies, child protection organizations and community stakeholders to promote and safeguard the rights, safety and welfare of children throughout the State.

 

“The Command remains committed to promoting justice, compassion and protection of human rights in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police,” he stated.
