Police, Alor Community Leaders Meet as Investigation into Student’s Death Continues

The Anambra State Police Command has reaffirmed its determination to ensure justice in the ongoing investigation into the suspected murder of a 23-year-old female student who was found dead in her residence in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area.

 

As part of efforts to support the investigation, a delegation of Alor community leaders led by the President General, Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, accompanied by members of the Red Cap Chiefs, visited the State Police Command on Friday, June 26, 2026.

 

During the meeting, the community leaders shared useful information with investigators and pledged their full cooperation with the Police. They stressed the community’s readiness to support every lawful effort aimed at uncovering the truth behind the tragic incident and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.

Addressing the delegation, the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, mnips, PhD, assured them that the Command remains committed to conducting a thorough investigation. He emphasized that anyone found culpable would face the full weight of the law.

 

The Police Commissioner also appealed to residents to remain calm, avoid spreading unverified information, and instead provide credible intelligence that could assist investigators in resolving the case.

 

Speaking on behalf of the community, the President General of Alor commended the Police for their swift response and professional handling of the investigation. He expressed confidence in the Command’s ability to uncover the facts and reiterated the community’s commitment to working closely with law enforcement until justice is achieved.

 

The Anambra State Police Command assured the bereaved family, the people of Alor, and the general public that it will leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice. The Command added that further updates will be made available as the investigation progresses.
