Chief Uzuegbuna Okagbue has rolled out an empowerment scheme for at least 100 petty business owners in Anambra State. Mr. Okagbue, a former banker who served as the Chief of Protocol and Deputy Chief of Staff to Anambra’s former Governor, was the Deputy Governorship candidate of the YPP in the last November governorship election in Anambra State. He is reputed for structured charity interventions, even while he worked at the bank for about a decade.

According to Okagbue, this empowerment with cash support of ₦50, 000, is strictly for petty business owners in Anambra State, as part of his personal contribution to boost their businesses. His choice of Anambra, he revealed, is given the volume of petty businesses scattered across every part of Anambra State, which could do better with a small cash support.

Modalities for the selection of beneficiaries of this business grant have been set. Each senatorial zone gets thirty beneficiaries, while the remaining ten will be selected randomly, bringing the total number to 100 beneficiaries. The process is managed by Chief Uche Nworah, a former Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service – ABS, and President of Charlton Business School.

Participants or those who have petty business owners to nominate can do so by submitting the name, location, photo/video of the business, as well as contact number of the business owner to Uche Nworah on social media or to this number: 08035467898. Cash disbursement will take immediate effect once the process is completed.
