It was an interesting sight to behold as a public school Pupil, Miss Isioma Okolie of Umuota Primary School Obosi, became the psynosure of all eyes as she beat 196 pupils to emerge 1st Runner up in the ‘Late Marshall Ochokwu Foundation 8th All Idemili North & South Quiz Competition for Basic 5 and 6’.
The performance of Miss Isioma Okolie who hails from Delta State attracted her a 6 year full scholarship for her secondary school education from Engr and Mrs Tonna Anyaeji, the Obosi Development Union ODU Chairman Benin branch, which was not part of the prizes to be won in the competition.
Speaking during the Grand finale of the Ouiz competition which held on July 31, 2026 courtesy of Choice De Immaculate Demonstration School CIDS Obosi, the CIDS Proprietor/ Foundation Director, Engr Solomy Ochokwu revealed that since the inception of the competition, no pupil from a public school has ever scaled through the 1st round of the keenly contested Ouiz competition.
According to Ochokwu, 198 pupils from 28 schools registered individualy for the 1st round of qualifiers which held on June 26, 2026. Today, 41 pupils out of 12 schools made it to this Grand Finale which produced five prize winners.
” Master Chukwuemeka David of Maria Ines School Obosi from Ugamuma village Obosi, Anambra State emerged overall winner. He received #150,000 for 1st Prize, sponsored by CIDS.
“Miss Isioma Okolie of Umuota primary School Obosi won 2nd Prize of #100,000 sponsored by Engr and Mrs Tonna Anyaeji. Miss Delight Agubuesi of Maria Ines school Obosi from Imo State won 3rd prize of #50,000 sponsored by Amb. Chuma Nwike.
” Master Luke Chijindu of CIDS from Okpuno Umuota Obosi, Anambra State clinched the 4th Prize of #30,000 while another CIDS pupil, Miss Mercy Idris from Kogi State won the 5th prize of #20,000.
Consolation Prizes for the first 30 pupils include 30 school bags worth #600,000 Sponsored by Engr Eric Anyamene. 30 mathematical sets and Exercise Books worth #200,000.
Earlier, Engr Ochokwu said that the Late Marshal Ochokwu Foundation Quiz started exactly 8vyears ago with about 7 Primary Schools as an All Obosi Primary School quiz competition in commemoration of his late father.
“The 3rd edition In 2021 was broadened to All Idemili North Quiz. However Based on interests from more schools it was broadened and named in 2023 as All Idemili North and South Quiz Competitions.
“The idea is to encourage the spirit of Competition amongst pupils of Primary schools which is currently lacking in Anambra state as this quiz is encompassing. It involves the Basic foundational subjects of Maths , English and Sciences and has a unique transparency as Teachers of participating schools sets the question on the spot,” said Ochokwu.
