The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, has called for collaboration between subnationals and the federal government of Nigeria. Speaking at the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit, 2026, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, said that Nigeria has stabilized. He also called on Delta State to partner Anambra and other nearby states to coordinate and accelerate development. This partnership, Governor Soludo said, should involve the federal government of Nigeria and the 36 states, plus the FCT, including the 774 LGAs in Nigeria.
During his speech, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, also said that investment must be taken beyond talk shows. According to Soludo, investment must be taken more seriously. “Let’s make investment a habit,” Soludo admonished.
Commenting on practical ways to make investment a habit, Governor Soludo narrated his story of wearing Akwete material, which was introduced to him by his daughter in 2019. Since then, he had adopted it as his “daily uniform”. He then commended the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for the support she gave Akwete during her recent visit to Abia state. Similarly, Governor Soludo commended the Director General of World Bank, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, for being a good ambassador of made in Nigeria clothes. To this end, the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, called on Nigerians to adopt made-in-Nigeria wears, saying it will create millions of jobs. “If 240 million Nigerians wear made in Nigeria, more than 10 million jobs will be created,” Professor Soludo said, insisting that “we can now walk the talk.”
In his speech, the Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, commended Governor Soludo, describing him as a man of conviction. “Professor Charles Soludo is a man I respect highly…he goes against the direction of the wind,” the Vice President said, eulogizing Soludo’s numerous contributions to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
