The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Anambra State has vowed its readiness to pursue victories from the presidency to the State Houses of Assembly.
State Chairman, Hon. Ike Uzoezie made the declaration in Awka during a meeting with leaders of political support groups mobilising around the Peter Obi-Rabiu Kwankwaso presidential project.
He said the growing enthusiasm surrounding the Obi-Kwankwaso project had convinced the party that it could dislodge the country’s established political forces in the 2027 elections.
“Politics is all about winning, and by God’s grace, coupled with the massive support base we are receiving from groups like yours and ordinary Nigerians, 2027 is already assured for the NDC,” he said.
Uzoezie said the party was not limiting its ambitions to the presidency.
“Our winning will be from top to bottom,” he declared, adding that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso would contest and win the presidency under the NDC, while the party’s candidates would also target the Senate, House of Representatives, governorships and State Houses of Assembly.
He said the anticipated victory would mark a fundamental shift in Nigeria’s political direction.
“NDC victory will change the narrative and direction of this country,” Uzoezie said.
The chairman also invited more Nigerians to join the party, promising an open political platform for those willing to participate in the emerging coalition.
He particularly called for stronger grassroots involvement as political mobilisation for 2027 intensifies.
The meeting’s Coordinator, Chief Fidel Okafor, said the coalition was working to bring the various support groups into a single, coordinated structure.
According to him, the objective was to eliminate overlapping activities among the groups and develop a unified mobilisation network capable of delivering votes on election day.
Prof. Pat Obi, leader of the Associates of Peter Obi and the Obidient Movement in Anambra, said the coalition could not afford to rely solely on online popularity.
He urged supporters to establish functional structures at the ward and polling-unit levels and to work closely with NDC leaders in their localities.
Obi also issued a direct challenge to supporters to defend Peter Obi’s political stronghold in Anambra.
“They have been boasting that they will defeat Obi in his home state. We need to rise to the occasion by mobilising our members massively to ensure that Ndi Anambra repay Obi for his legacy as Governor of the state,” he said.
Also speaking, State Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Comrade Charles Anueyiagu, appealed to the various support groups to unite behind the coalition’s broader objective.
He warned against allowing individual interests to undermine the mobilisation effort, stressing that unity would be critical to converting political enthusiasm into actual votes.
The NDC’s sweeping projection sets an ambitious benchmark for the party ahead of 2027.
But with the election still in the future, its ability to transform support for the Obi-Kwankwaso project into organised, nationwide electoral strength remains the central test.
