He said the suspects were apprehended on Monday by operatives of the Corps in collaboration with Agunachemba Security Outfit in Onitsha LGA while vandalizing government property in Onitsha South LGA.

Okadigbo listed arrested suspects as Mr. Oseloka Anyaorah of Onitsha Umuasi, who claimed to be the Chairman of Ogbo Family, alongside Mr. John Nwobodo and Mr. Ifeanyi Nwancho, both of whom claimed to be workers of Mr. Anyaorah at the site.

He said one government signpost, zinc sheets, nails, and other building materials were recovered from the suspects.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects conspired to damage and remove parts of government infrastructure belonging to Onitsha South. The vandalised items have been recovered and are in the custody of the Corps.

“Meanwhile, the NSCDC State Commandant, Commandant Maku Olatunde, has condemned the act and described the vandalism of public property as economic sabotage against the government and people of Anambra State.

“He reiterated the Corps’ commitment to the protection of Critical National Assets and Infrastructure.

“Commandant Maku directed that the suspects be profiled and charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

“He further called on traditional rulers, town union leaders, and Anambra residents to provide timely information to security agencies to prevent further vandalism of government facilities,” Okadigbo added.
