A delegation of Team Rescue Mission, representing the Labour Party Senatorial Candidate for Anambra Central, Ven. Tochukwu Ikezue has arrived in Accra, Ghana, ahead of the 2026 UN Peace Ambassador/UPF Ghana Honours Award ceremony.
The delegation, led by Hon. Cletus Amaraegbu, was received during a courtesy visit to the palace of Onyendu Ndigbo Ghana, His Royal Highness Igwe Chukwudi Iheanatu, in Accra.
Speaking during the visit, Igwe Iheanatu expressed delight over the team’s safe arrival and commended Ikezue for his service to God and humanity.
The traditional ruler described Ikezue as an Anglican priest who quietly impacts lives, promotes peace and demonstrates humility and integrity in his service.
He also commended former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is among the recipients of the 2026 International Honours Award, describing him as a detribalised Nigerian and bridge builder.
The monarch called on Ndigbo in Nigeria and the diaspora to move beyond money politics and support leaders with competence, integrity and commitment to the welfare of the people.
He said: “Ndigbo should not consider money-bags as the best hands to govern. The Bible says, when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. We must learn to support righteous, competent and God-fearing leaders.”
Igwe Iheanatu cited the administration of Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, as an example of leadership focused on reforms and the welfare of the people.
Responding, Hon Amaraegbu thanked the traditional ruler for the warm reception and fatherly blessings, assuring him of Ikezue’s commitment to the ideals of service, righteous leadership and the development of Anambra Central.
The International Honours Award ceremony is expected to bring together distinguished personalities from across Africa.
