The Special Adviser to the Governor of Anambra State on Youth Reformation, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, has said that Nigeria’s ability to realize its full potential depends on how the people take full responsibility for their country. “A better Nigeria begins with you,” Dr. Omenugha said, reflecting on Nigeria’s 66th independence anniversary.
Calling on young Nigerians to rise to the challenge of nation-building, Omenugha said they must look beyond celebration and challenges. “It is important to us, particularly as young Nigerians, to look beyond the celebration and ask ourselves a fundamental question: What am I doing to make Nigeria better,” the Special Adviser admonished.
Speaking on the role of young people in nation-building, Omenugha expressed confidence in the abilities of young people, pointing out that their role is beyond the saying that youths are the leaders of tomorrow. “Nigeria’s young people are not merely the leaders of tomorrow; they are a critical force in the Nigeria of today,” with enormous resources that can be duly channeled to “transform potential into purpose, productivity and measurable impact,” Dr. Omenugha assured, insisting that “patriotism must move beyond words.”
Dr. Nelson Omenugha also commended the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, noting that the governor’s youth reformation agenda is a model that can engineer a new awakening and patriotic consciousness among Nigeria’s young people.
