APAMS Funeral Limited, one of Nigeria’s prominent funeral service companies, has entered into a strategic partnership with Turo Africa Limited, a premium vehicle hire and mobility company, to provide executive transportation options to APAMS clients across its expanding network.
The partnership is expected to give clients and other visitors who require private or executive transportation an additional service option, particularly those travelling from outside the country, outside their base, or home locations for burial ceremonies and other engagements handled by APAMS.
The new partnership was confirmed by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Turo Africa, High Chief Dr. Sir Darlington Nwabunike (Ogbabaluaku na Anwu Ojoto) , at the official opening of APAMS’ South-South Regional Headquarters in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, which also marked the official entry of Turo Africa into the Port-Harcourt market through its partnership and synergy with APAMS
Speaking with newsmen at the event, the Turo Africa CEO said the partnership was designed to bring premium logistics services closer to residents and indigenes of Rivers State as well as people in neighbouring states.
Nwabunike said the establishment of Turo Africa in Port-Harcourt was also intended to formally introduce the company and its services to the people of the state. He further assured that the business had come to stay and would provide what he described as first-class luxury logistics services to customers in the area.
Under the new partnership and arrangement, APAMS’ clients who may prefer not to travel to a burial ceremony with their personal vehicles will be able to access Turo Africa’s vehicle-hire services through APAMS offices in their areas of interest, thereby making transportation arrangements part of the wider support available to them.
Turo Africa provides executive vehicle hire and leasing, VIP transportation, airport transfers, chauffeur services, interstate and intra-city transportation, as well as event logistics and other mobility-related services. The company says it operates across major Nigerian cities and provides a range of vehicles, including SUVs and other premium categories.
The partnership therefore creates a link between APAMS’ extensive funeral service network and Turo Africa’s mobility services, with the potential to make movement easier for families, guests and other clients who may need executive transportation before, during or after funeral ceremonies.
For APAMS, the development signifies another effort to expand the range of services available to its growing clientele beyond the core business of funeral undertaking. The company has over the years built its operations around a wide range of funeral services, including transportation, casket services, funeral planning and other arrangements connected with burial ceremonies.
The arrangement is also coming as APAMS continues to expand its presence in different parts of Nigeria. The company has grown from its roots in Anambra into a wider network of offices across the country, while continuing to invest in specialised vehicles and other facilities for its operations.
For clients travelling long distances for burials, the new arrangement could provide an alternative to the inconvenience and cost of moving personal vehicles from one state to another, especially where the need is only for a short stay around the funeral ceremony.
The partnership further points to the increasing diversification of services around Nigeria’s funeral industry, where mobility, logistics and other support services have become important parts of the experience for families and guests. APAMS has previously positioned itself as a one-stop funeral service provider, while Turo Africa describes its own focus as providing premium mobility solutions for individuals, businesses and VIP clients.
With the partnership, APAMS clients will have access to another option for arranging executive transportation in their preferred locations, while the two companies seek to leverage their respective networks and service capacities to improve convenience for clients.
