The Concerned Creative Artists and Entertainers Initiative for Tinubu (CCAA4 Tinubu), an affiliate of the Tinubu Again Movement (TAM) has called on creative industry stakeholders in Anambra State to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.
The group also demanded greater access to funding, improved welfare and stronger protection of their professional rights.
Convener of CCAA4 Tinubu, Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas made the call during Nationwide Creative Sensitisation and Mobilisation programme of the State Chapter.
He urged participants to assess government policies and ensure interests of creative professionals are adequately represented.
Speaking at the event, Rollas recalled his meeting with Tinubu in 2022 where the President expressed his intention to establish a dedicated ministry for the creative industry and transform the National Theatre into a world-class facility.
According to him, the establishment of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture and the Creative Economy and the renovation of the National Theatre, now known as the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, are significant developments that deserve recognition.
Rollas also highlighted the appointment of experienced industry practitioners to leadership positions in relevant cultural and creative institutions, alongside government initiatives aimed at improving access to finance, skills development, innovation and intellectual property monetisation.
“The interventions must translate into tangible benefits for ordinary practitioners. Appointments and policy announcements alone are not enough without effective implementation and accountability.
“We must ask critical questions about the accessibility of government programmes, the protection of intellectual property, the availability of creative infrastructure beyond Abuja and Lagos, and the welfare of industry professionals,” he stated.
While calling for increased access to financing, social protection, skills development, better distribution opportunities and active involvement of guilds and associations in policy implementation, Rollas challenged the State to position itself to benefit from federal creative economy programmes, develop creative hubs and create opportunities for young talents to build sustainable livelihoods.
He further commended the creative industry members who attended the programme and encouraged them to remain committed to the initiative’s mobilisation efforts towards Tinubu’s re-election.
He emphasised that the creative sector is more than entertainment, describing it as an important source of employment, economic growth, cultural identity and Nigeria’s international influence.
He urged participants to remain united, engage constructively with government and ensure that their demands are clearly communicated.
Anambra State Coordinator of CCAA4 Tinubu, Princess Bibiana Nnankwo appreciated participants for attending the gathering and reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring that the voices of creative professionals are heard.
She stressed that artists, entertainers and other practitioners deserve recognition and adequate representation in decisions affecting their work, welfare and future, just as she encouraged members to remain actively involved in the initiative and contribute to strengthening its presence across the state.
Nnankwo also admonished local government and ward coordinators to intensify grassroots mobilisation, reach out to creative professionals in their communities and work towards securing Tinubu’s return to office.
She urged them to demonstrate commitment to their responsibilities, strengthen coordination at the grassroots and sustain engagement with members in their respective areas as the initiative advances its political objectives.
The programme forms part of the nationwide activities of CCAA4 Tinubu, aimed at engaging creative industry stakeholders in support of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Anambra engagement highlighted the need to combine political participation with constructive advocacy, with a call for creatives to remain organised, united and vocal in pursuing policies that protect their rights, promote their talents and improve opportunities across the industry.
