Chairman of the Obidient-Kwankwasiya Movement in Anambra State, Chief Tim Egboka has called on people of the state to demonstrate their support for Peter Obi through active participation in the electoral process.
Egboka made the appeal in Awka following a State Executive Council meeting of the movement, which focused on strategies to strengthen its structures and prepare members for the polls.
He said Anambra should not remain on the sidelines while support for Obi is being expressed in other parts of the country but should rather demonstrate its commitment through voter mobilisation and turnout.
“We must lead from the front. We shouldn’t stay behind. We must translate our support into votes.
“Members are already working behind the scenes to develop strategies and establish structures aimed at supporting Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and other candidates of the party,” he said.
Egboka linked the movement’s activities to what he described as Nigerians’ growing demand for improved governance and a better future, particularly among young people.
He urged Anambra residents not to allow political disagreements or criticism of Obi to distract them from participating in the electoral process.
“Our takeaway from the meeting is that Anambra people should not be distracted. All hands should be on deck to make sure we make a statement.
“Our focus is to take the message to the grassroots and encourage supporters to demonstrate our political preferences at the ballot box,” he added.
Egboka also called on members to intensify their engagement with voters, stressing that the credibility of their mobilisation efforts would ultimately be reflected in electoral participation.
His appeal places voter mobilisation at the centre of the movement’s preparations, with Anambra residents being urged to play an active role in deciding the country’s political future.
